Lara approche des portes du temple de Xian… fermées. Elle les observe attentivement lorsqu'un homme armé lui tombe littéralement dessus ! D'une esquive imparable, elle l’envoie valser dans les portes et le tient en joue.

Elle se dirige vers l’ordinateur portable posé près du feu de camp derrière, appartenant probablement à son agresseur, elle tapote un peu sur le clavier et trouve…

Derrière un opéra vénitien "abandonné", Lara monte à bord d'un hydravion qui s’apprête à décoller. Tandis qu’elle fouille quelques caisses, elle entend une conversation venant du cockpit. Un échange entre Fabio le pilote et Bartoli lui-même.

Eros, homme de main, arrive discrètement derrière Lara, accroché à la glissière et l’assomme à coup de clé à molette, Lara n’a pas le temps de réagir et tombe sur le coup.

Eros : Sì!

Alors que Lara s’approche de la fin du niveau, elle entend depuis les couloirs où elle se trouve une conversation entre Bartoli, un sbire et quelqu’un qui est malmené.

Marco : Blood or answers, I have no preference. He should spill a bit of both!

Sbire : OK Marco! Glad to have you aboard. (s’adressant ensuite à la victime) What do you want? Come on. Stick through your stomach? Tell me where in monastery should we look? Eh, brother!

La personne menacée par Marco Bartoli et deux de ses sbires n’est tout autre qu'un moine aveugle que Lara vient aider tout en lui soutirant des informations. Celui-ci lui explique sa présence ici.

Bartoli vient de tuer le moine de deux balles de 9mm. Lara dégaine et tire vers sa direction tout en courant vers le couloir la ramenant à l'aire de plongeon ou un mini sous-marin s’immerge doucement…

Alors que Lara vient de tuer les derniers hommes de Bartoli qui étaient venus l’attaquer chez elle, elle s’apprête à prendre une douche, mais s’aperçoit que vous êtes toujours devant votre écran.

Lara : Don't you think you've seen enough?

D’un coup de fusil dans la caméra, elle envoie le générique de Tomb Raider II.
